Become a Broker

Insurance industry is a safe and recession proof industry. If you can build up your career in this sector you will be well of. It takes hard work for few years but eventually you will get settled in.

But before you become a broker, there are some steps that you need to take. First and foremost you will have to take a Broker’s license through RIBO (Registered Insurance Brokers of Ontario). You can find out how to get licensed from this Link: Entry Level Licensing

Once you get your license the second step is to become associated with a RIBO accredited Brokerage. You can start as a fully commissioned Broker where you will be getting your own clients and write policies for them for Home, Auto and Commercial Insurance. Or you can get hired as a CSR (Customer Service Representative) with a Brokerage. The latter will give you a steady income and you can also earn commission by writing businesses for your clients.

Training to become a Broker

This part is very important. To become successful as a broker you have to be trained properly. Insurance is not merely data entry and generating quotes. There are lots of issues, tips and tricks you need to learn in order to get proper underwriting done on each of your policies. Writing policies are time consuming and stressful but if you are properly trained and all your questions are answered properly you will get there.

I have trained brokers to become successful before. I like to impart my knowledge to the new brokers. If you want to become a successful broker you can reach out to me at 416-550-8546 or [email protected]
